3rd Year Performances

The research outputs of the MEGA project and the MEGA System Environment have been employed in several public events (multimedia concerts, exhibits, demonstrations) during the 3rd year. The purpose has been mainly:

- to test the MEGA System Environment and the research outputs in real application scenarios,
- to test different innovative techniques for artistic set-ups,
- to try out real-time analysis and synthesis algorithms in music (including singing voice) and movement (including dance),
- to evaluate the appreciation for MEGA technology from both the artists and the audiences,
- to introduce innovative techniques and methods in the cultural field, in an educative way.

The events are ranging from small demonstrations to big public concerts. The advantages with smaller events refers to a more close interaction between artists, visitors, spectators, and researchers, whereas the bigger public events are more apt for public evaluations, for instance having questionnaires distributed to the audience.
